On Wednesday, Milos Raonic will go head-to-head against a fellow Canadian in the second round of Rogers Cup presented by National Bank at IGA Stadium in Montréal.
His opponent will be either Félix Auger-Aliassime or Vasek Pospisil, who will come to blows on Tuesday afternoon.
On Monday, Raonic won the fourth of his five matches against Lucas Pouille of France in two identical sets (6-4, 6-4).
Playing through back pain, the Canadian was powerful and efficient on serve, winning 89% of points when his first serve landed in. In just over an hour (1:12), he racked up 16 aces versus 2 for his rival.
Earning 61 points (48 for Pouille), Raonic gained a break in each set to secure his decisive win.
