One of the biggest athletic power couples is set to tie the knot! Tennis star Sloane Stephens and Toronto FC striker Jozy Altidore announced their engagement on Monday. The two athletes took to social media to share the news with the world.
In celebration of this fantastic inter-sport news, let’s take a look at the evolution of what is arguably the most goals relationship in the sporting world.
The first post of the two came on November 6th, 2017 courtesy of then future-US Open winner. The now 26-year-old wished her “first crush” a happy birthday!
The MLS champion took to Instagram only 12 days later. A nice date night with his love is “eh” okay in our books.
Toronto teams usually cheer on fellow squads in the 6ix. Altidore did just that for the Toronto Raptors and brought his stunning companion along for extra support. The ‘Dream Team’ did their part as the Raptors destroyed the Boston Celtics 96-78!
Maybe the team should bring these two to every game during this year’s playoff run!
It’s vitally important for couples to support one another through the highs and lows. The striker made sure he was in Paris when Stephens battled Simona Halep in the 2018 Roland-Garros finals. Unfortunately she couldn’t pick up her second career Grand Slam, but you can bet having Altidore there made a difference.
During the trip, he discovered actor Woody Harrelson is a TFC fan. Who’d have thunk it?
Another birthday post by Stephens a year later. This time capturing a cute video of the 29-year-old soccer star channeling his softer side… by braiding her hair!

Being a professional comes with a busy and hectic schedule. A difficult aspect is finding consistent quality time with friends and family. Jozy is one of those people that doesn’t take it for granted.
One of the hardest things I find is travelling back home after a vacation. Sloane and Jozy agree with me on that front based on with this caption.
Another date night at Scotiabank Arena and another Toronto Raptors win, this time beating the San Antonio Spurs 120-117 and spoiling DeMar DeRozan’s return in the process.
So… basically the Raptors should be inviting Altidore and Stephens to every game, right?

In late February, TFC resigned Altidore to a three-year extension that made him one of the highest-paid players in the MLS. The reaction of his son and now-fiancée is priceless.
The face you make when daddy signs an extension 😱😲😮
Congratulations baby, we love you @JozyAltidore ! Here’s to more years of cheering you on, making memories and keeping the 6ix on a wave 🌊 You’re amazing and you make us so proud! pic.twitter.com/HZLNNBEy8C
