Tweets of the week: Following Wimbledon cancellation, ATP players get creative in isolation

April 3, 2020

The last time The Championships, Wimbledon wasn’t held was in 1945 due to World War II. On Wednesday, the Grand Slam was postponed for the first time in 75 years. As one of the most prolific sporting events in the calendar year, it’s been tough on ATP players across the world.

We can’t imagine how eight-time champ Roger Federer is feeling; his arthroscopic knee surgery would have had him ready and healthy for the tournament.

Federer is not the only player feeling the effects of the lost grass court season.

As more and more time passes without tennis, ATP players continue to find different ways to stay busy. For Djokovic that’s…putting his kids in boxes?

Daniil Medvedev drawing his version of the Lacoste logo…not bad at all!

Tsonga and his son jamming at home…we can get behind it!

Three-time Grand Slam champion and now…boxer? We wouldn’t want to see Wawrinka on the other side of the ring.

And more tennis at home creativity…is that over an ironing board, Fabio?

Of course, the competition never stops when you’re the World No. 1. That’s a nice court!

Roger choosing a different way to stay in shape at home…wow, I really need to visit Switzerland.

And a nice check-in from Rafa Nadal, who we’re sure is keeping his fingers crossed Roland Garros is played as planned this September!

Another cryptic tweet from Tsitsipas this week…this is us everyday in quarantine.

It’s the weekend, right…did someone say wine?

We’ll leave you with this wholesome Isner family photo…just too good not to share! Stay safe and keep looking for the positives.
