Does my family get perks if I volunteer?
Yes. Volunteers receive tickets to attend the tournament, which they may give to family or friends. In Toronto, volunteers may also receive discounts on additional ticket purchases.
What happens if I'm only available a few days a week?
In Montreal, volunteers must be available to work a minimum of seven shifts. In Toronto, volunteers must work at least 42 hours over six or seven shifts.
What happens if I'm only available either during the day or night?
Many volunteer teams work both day and evening shifts. The more availability you have, the easier it is to schedule your shifts.
What are minimum hours I'd have to work in a day?
The length of each shift depends on the committee, but most shifts last between six and seven hours. As the tournament is held outdoors, weather delays may occur and volunteers are expected to remain until the end of matches.
Will I have access to view a match? To meet players?
Depending on your assigned committee, you may be able to watch matches while on duty. In addition, Tennis Canada provides volunteers with tickets to attend matches outside of their shifts.
Can I bring my own lunch as volunteer?
Yes. You may bring your own food, but all National Bank Open volunteers receive one free meal per shift.
If I pay for parking, do I get a refund?
No. Volunteers have access to free parking (including shuttle service where applicable). Tennis Canada does not reimburse parking expenses.
What are the perks of being a volunteer?
Volunteers receive several benefits, including accreditation granting site access, an official Psycho Bunny uniform, free parking (Toronto), complimentary tickets, one free meal per shift, and an invitation to the volunteer appreciation event.
What are the basic requirements to be a National Bank Open Volunteer?
Most roles require strong customer service skills, a professional and friendly attitude, and the ability to follow instructions and volunteer policies. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old in Toronto and 14 years old in Montreal, with a minimum shift commitment required.
I'm passionate about tennis but I'm not available during tournament. Is there any way I could volunteer?

Is there position available for people with disabilities?
Tennis Canada strives to place volunteers in committees that best match their skills and abilities. If you have a disability, we will do our best to find a suitable volunteer role.
I volunteered last year. Do I have to register this year?
Yes. All volunteers, whether new or returning, must submit an application each year if they wish to volunteer.
I live outside Quebec and would like to volunteer for the National Bank Open in Montreal. Is this possible?
Yes. Volunteers from outside Quebec and from other countries are welcome. However, Tennis Canada does not reimburse travel or accommodation expenses, and volunteers must be fluent in French.
Is there a maximum or minimum age to apply?
In Montreal, volunteers must be at least 14 years old. In Toronto, volunteers must be at least 16 years old. There is no maximum age limit.

How can I register as a volunteer?
To volunteer in Montreal, applications can be submitted online from January to July. If selected, a committee lead will contact you regarding training sessions and work shifts. To volunteer in Toronto, applications must be submitted by May 1. New volunteers are required to attend a volunteer fair and complete an interview.
