PERONI REFRESH: THE MAIN DRAW IS SET IN MONTREAL

Day three at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers was another hot one and saw seven qualifiers get added to the main draw to set up what promises to be a thrilling week of tennis at IGA Stadium.

Plus, Félix Auger-Aliassime has arrived in Montreal and made his first appearance at the tournament on Sunday. He spoke to the media and of course, began his preparations for what he hopes will be a memorable few days in front of his hometown faithful. As expected, he was treated to a hero’s welcome.

QUALIFIERS ARE THIRSTY FOR MORE

A total of seven players earned their place in the main draw and between them, fans will find a good mix of youth and experience.

Veterans Fabio Fognini, formerly ranked no. 9 on the ATP rankings, Benoit Paire, and Adrian Mannarino all won to wrap up the first weekend. Meanwhile, Jack Draper and Hugo Gaston, who defeated Canadian Gabriel Diallo, are members of tennis’ next generation whose adventure in Montreal will continue.

Arthur Rinderknech and Marcos Giron were the other two qualifiers.

STAYING COOL AROUND THE GROUNDS

On the final day of IGA Family Weekend, fans on site were able to watch Matteo Berrettini, Diego Schwartzman, and other ATP players take on members of CF Montreal in a friendly soccer match.

The kids also did some yoga with Holger Rune and Maxime Cressy helped with a wheelchair tennis demonstration.

A HAPPY HOUR MOMENT

Poor Matteo, all he wanted was a high-five from the CF Montreal mascot!
