As part of IGA Family Weekend, players from CF Montreal took on some of your favourite WTA stars in a soccer game on Rogers Court. Daria Kasatkina, Jelena Ostapenko, Donna Vekic, and Victoria Azarenka along with her son Leo showed off their footie skills. Things got quite competitive and Leo was the WTA's biggest cheerleader!

5:14 p.m. ET - Collins closes out Bouchard in seesaw qualies clash

Hometown favourite Eugenie Bouchard accounted for herself well in a tough first-round draw against fellow Grand Slam finalist Danielle Collins, but came up short in a 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 decision that saw multiple swings in momentum. Collins was ruthless from the start, punishing the Bouchard serve despite being broken in her own opening game of that match.

Although the American – the runner-up at the Australian Open in 2022 – blinked in the second set against Bouchard (the 2014 Wimbledon finalist), she was able to steady the ship in the third to secure victory in front of an impressive qualifying weekend crowd at Stade IGA.

3:39 m. ET - Former champ Giorgi kicks of qualifying campaign with win

Casual fans might have been surprised to see 2021 Omnium Banque Nationale champ Camila Giorgi in qualifying, but the popular Italian power-hitter has been struggling for form since her career-defining win two years ago.

Can Giorgi rediscover the magic that saw her claim the crown in Montreal? Well, she's off to a great start, dismissing Elvina Kalieva 6-2, 6-4 to move within one win of the main draw.

2:06 p.m. ET – Stakusic battles in Parks loss, Zhao bows out to Busca

Canadian wild card Marina Stakusic of Toronto put forth an admirable effort against Alycia Parks in her qualifying opener, pushing the American – who won her maiden WTA title in Lyon earlier this season – all the way to the 12th game of the third set but, couldn't get over the finish line.

No. 2 seed Parks advances to the final round of qualifying, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 after two hours and 42 minutes of play.

Earlier in the day, Cristina Bucsa, Elizabeth Manlik and Ashlyn Krueger all advanced as well, with Bucsa taking out Canadian favourite Carol Zhao, 6-3, 6-3 in the first completed match of the day.
