With the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells now just a few weeks away, the WTA Tour wraps up their three-tournament swing in the Middle East at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships while the ATP Tour arrives in Doha.
In Dubai, World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is looking to capture her second straight WTA 1000 title after successfully defending her Doha crown last week. Plus, Aryna Sabalenka lost her first match since winning the Australian Open last month at the hands of Donna Vekic in Dubai and Elina Svitolina’s return to the courts was a triumphant one after being forced to withdraw with an injury in Melbourne.
Speaking of injuries, Karolina Muchova, last year’s Roland-Garros finalist, announced that she has undergone successful wrist surgery. The Czech hasn’t played since falling in the semi-finals of the U.S. Open five months ago.

On the men’s side, Jannik Sinner continued his winning ways in Rotterdam as the AO champion captured another trophy and has moved up to no. 3 on the world rankings. Meanwhile, American Taylor Fritz successfully defended his title in Delray Beach and Facundo Diaz Acosta took home top honours in Buenos Aires.
This week’s marquee event is the ATP 500 tournament in Rio headlined by Carlos Alcaraz and defending champion Cameron Norrie. In Doha, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov are the top two seeds while Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas lead the way in Los Cabos.
