North America was well represented on Centre Court at Sobeys Stadium on Wednesday as round-two action concludeD.

CENTRE COURT – start at 12:30 PM
- [4] Ben Shelton (USA) d. [Q] Adrian Mannarino (FRA) 6-2, 6-3
- Shelton did what he does best, blasting 16 aces past the Frenchman and dropping just three points on his first serve and 10 on his delivery overall. The American saved the only two break points he faced while converting three, needing just over an hour to claim victory.
- [27] Gabriel Diallo (CAN) d. [WC] Matteo Gigante (ITA)
- While missed break point opportunities made the match much more challenging, Diallo found a way to get the job done in straight sets. The Canadian raced out to a 3-0 lead which was enough to take the first set despite a rain delay at 5-3. Gigante responded and led 5-2 in the second with two set points on Diallo's serve, but the Montrealer saved them and then broke back. He then rallied from 5-3 down in the tiebreak, winning the last four points in a row to seal the win in two sets. READ MORE.

- [2] Taylor Fritz (USA) d. Roberto Carballes Baena (ESP) 7-5, 7-6(1)
- There were lots of shaky moments from Fritz in a match that was constantly being paused because of the rain, but the American was able to pull it together in the big moments. MOTOROLA RAZR GRANDSTAND COURT – start at 11:00 AM
- [6] Andrey Rublev d. Hugo Gaston (FRA) 6-2, 6-3

- [13] Flavio Cobolli (ITA) d, [WC] Alexis Galarneau (CAN) 6-4, 5-7, 6-4

Not Before 5:00 PM
- Christopher O'Connell (AUS) d. [23] Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE) 6-4, 4-6, 6-2
- The first two sets only saw one break each but in the decider, the 2018 Toronto runner-up could barely hang on to his serve, getting broken three times.
COURT 1 – start at 12:30 PM
- Aleksandar Vukic (AUS) d. [31] Cameron Norrie (GBR) 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-3
- Vukic had a hard time putting this one to bed, including letting a minibreak lead in the second-set tiebreak slip away, missing a love-40 opening early in the third, and then a rain delay at deuce when he served for it. When they came back, the Aussie quickly won the two points he needed.
- [12] Jakub Mensik (CZE) d. [Q] Tristan Boyer (USA) 6-4, 6-4
- Mensik displayed impeccable timing in this one, breaking in the final game of both sets. He did not face a single break point on his own serve.
- [20] Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP) d. Corentin Moutet (FRA) 6-4, 6-3
- A chaotic second set that saw six breaks of serve in nine games was edged out by the recent Washington runner-up, who managed four of those breaks.
- [15] Arthur Fils (FRA) d. Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP) 6-3, 6-4
- Fils broke early in both sets and had too much firepower for the 2022 champion, using his big-hitting to maintain the advantages throughout.
- [9] Alex de Minaur (AUS) d. Francisco Comesana (ARG) 6-4, 6-2
- The 2023 runner-up faced a break point in his opening service game but locked in after that. De Minaur did not face another break point in the match and converted three of his own to kick off his bid to reach another Toronto final.

- Sonego broke early in both sets and, despite letting his lead briefly slip in the second, was on the front foot throughout.
- [25] Brandon Nakashima (USA) d. Ethan Quinn (USA) 7-6(6), 6-4
- The first set nearly escaped Nakashima after he missed seven set points on Quinn's serve before having to save a set point in the tiebreak. He avoided the drama in the second set, breaking in the opening game and holding on.
- [19] Jiri Lehecka (CZE) d. Mackenzie McDonald (USA) 7-6(2) 6-2
- After edging out the opening set in the breaker, Lehecka rallied after dropping serve to start the second set and capped off the win with a break.
