Wimbledon Champion Iga Swiatek has Landed in Montreal

Fresh off her maiden Wimbledon title at the All-England Club, Iga Swiatek has arrived in Montreal to begin her preparations for the National Bank Open presented by Rogers which is set to get underway on Saturday.

The world no. 3 will be playing at the appropriately named IGA Stadium for the second time in her career. Two years ago, she reached the semi-finals before falling to eventual champion Jessica Pegula.

Swiatek will hit her first tennis balls in Montreal Thursday on Centre Court.

Bianca is here too

Bianca Andreescu, champion of the NBO in 2019, practiced for the first time in Montreal on Wednesday morning.

Over the weekend, she and Félix Auger-Aliassime captured Canada’s first Hopman Cup crown, and she definitely brought winning vibes to Centre Court. Andreescu is one of eight Canadians who will compete in this year’s main draw.

The official draw ceremony will be streamed live beginning Saturday at 11 a.m. ET. Tune in to find out who your favourites will play in the early rounds.
