The fourth round matchups at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montreal are set after an exciting day of tennis at IGA Stadium.

The popcorn match on Friday’s schedule lived up to the hype as Brazilian phenomenon Joao Fonseca defeated Casper Ruud 7-6(6), 6-3 to reach the Round of 16 in Canada for the first. He’ll meet defending NBO champion Ben Shelton on Sunday in another star-studded matchup.

Meanwhile, American Learner Tien, another member of the ATP’s next gen, defeated his compatriot Tommy Paul and will face Thiago Tirante in the fourth round. The Argentine eliminated 2024 Montreal winner Alexei Popyrin.

Jakub Mensik will take on Botic van de Zandschulp and Tallon Griekspoor goes up against Daniel Merida in the two remaining Round of 16 matches.

On Saturday, the first four quarter-finalists will be decided at the NBO.

Gearing up for TennisFest Weekend

Friday marked the start of ‘OBN à Table’ with Chef John Mike, a unique gastronomic experience that will run until Sunday during TennisFest Weekend.

The evening session was sold out on both Centre Court and Rogers Court.

If you’re coming to the tournament on Saturday night don’t forget to wear your best 90s look to celebrate Retro Night presented Iris and one of the most iconic sports eras.
