The main draw gets rolling with Raonic and Diallo in action

On Tuesday, Canadians Milos Raonic and Gabriel Diallo will be in action in the opening round of the main draw of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers at IGA Stadium in Montréal.

A few of their countrymen will also be joining them when Denis Shapovalov, Vasek Pospisil and Félix Auger-Aliassime make their first appearances, in doubles.

Because Monday’s matches were postponed due to rain, there will also be six qualifying bouts to determine who’ll be joining their eminent colleagues in the deciding phase of the Masters 1000.

At 11 a.m. on Centre Court, Laval’s own Alexis Galarneau will wrap up his three-setter against Rinky Hijikata of Australia.

Afterwards, the Canadian will play doubles with Félix Auger-Aliassime. At around 3 p.m. on Rogers Court, the duo will face the 12th-seeded team of Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson of Australia.

Oh, what a night!

At 4 p.m. on Rogers Court, Gabriel Diallo will take on Karen Khachanov (16).

And at 7 p.m., Milos Raonic will make his way to Centre Court to battle a tough opponent in Holger Rune (13). The 21-year-old Dane may not be having a record-breaking season, but his talent and versatility are undeniable.
