The official draw ceremony for the 2025 National Bank Open presented by Rogers Montreal was held on Saturday morning at IGA Stadium.
The first WTA 1000 tournament of the North American summer hard court swing will feature eight of the Top 10 players in the world, led by French Open champion Coco Gauff and Wimbledon winner Iga Swiatek.
Meanwhile, two-time defending champion Jessica Pegula will be looking to become the first player to achieve a Canadian three-peat since her compatriot Monica Seles accomplished the feat in 1997. She finds herself in the same quarter as Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova, her opponent in the 2024 NBO championship contest in Toronto.
Mirra Andreeva, who will be making her Montreal debut this year, rounds out the top 4 seeds and she will be on the hunt for a third WTA 1000 title this season.
Bouchard to begin tennis farewell against Arango
Eugenie Bouchard will kick off the last tournament of her tennis career against world no. 81 Emiliana Arango of Columbia. It will be the first meeting between the two players.
The Montreal native will be joined by seven of her compatriots in the main draw. Fellow Quebecer Leylah Annie Fernandez will open against Maya Joint, Carson Branstine, who broke through at Wimbledon a few weeks ago, will open against Maria Sakkari, and Marina Stakusic will take on Jaqueline Cristian. 18-year-old Canadian sensation Victoria Mboko will start against Kimberly Birrell of Australia during Sunday’s opening round day session. For their part, Rebecca Marino and Kayla Cross will both play qualifiers.

Bianca Andreescu, 2019 NBO champion, will star in Sunday’s Opening Night festivities in a popcorn first round matchup against two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova.
