Tsitsipas Wins First Title in 16 Months

There was more than one Greek odyssey on display this past weekend.

For former world No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas, it was a return to his winning ways, as he defeated Raphael Collignon 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3 in Gstaad to win his first ATP title in 16 months.

The former Australian Open and Roland-Garros finalist had not won on tour since Dubai in March 2025.

“Today I couldn’t be more blessed, couldn’t be more happy. It’s been an incredible effort from my side to go out there and do that over and over again,” Tsitsipas said. “I’ve dealt with some pain in the past couple of days. So I’ve had to withstand a lot of different things. The result was obviously the best thing I would have imagined at the beginning of the week.”

The 27-year-old will now jump 30 spots to No. 55 in the ATP rankings after winning the 13th title of his career.

Rublev Wins Again in Bastad

Andrey Rublev snapped a long title drought of his own this past weekend, defeating second seed Luciano Darderi 6-4, 6-3 to win the Nordea Open in Bastad.

It was Rublev’s first title since Doha in February 2025, a near 17-month wait between trophies. It was also the second time Rublev has triumphed in Bastad, where he also won the title in 2023.

“I feel great. To be able to win here for a second time is a special feeling,” Rublev said. “I can’t say much because I just finished my match and I’m still feeling the adrenaline. I’m happy I was able to perform well this week and was able to win the title.”

It was the 18th ATP title of the 28-year-old’s career, as the former world No. 5 looks to build momentum heading into the North American swing. He rose two spots to No. 14 in the ATP rankings with the win.

Coming Up on Tour

Another pair of clay tournaments are taking place this week, before things shift to hard courts next Monday.

ATP 250 - Kitzbühel

Alexander Bublik holds the No. 1 seed at the Austrian 250 event as he returns to the Generali Open to defend the title he won last year.

Valentin Vacherot, Arthur Rinderknech, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, and Ignacio Buse round out the top-five seeds.

ATP 250 - Estoril

Rublev will make a quick turnaround and head to Portugal as the top seed in the Estoril Open.

He and Darderi are once again the top-two seeds at the tournament, with Alejandro Tabilo, Alexander Blockx, and Nuno Borges completing the top five.
