The quarterfinals are set at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers with Daniel Merida, Learner Tien, Ben Shelton, and Jakub Mensik completing the lineup on Sunday at IGA Stadium.

This means that all eight quarterfinalists are aged 25 an under.

The ATP’s next generation has arrived, and Montreal is here for it.

Merida defeated Tallon Griekspoor 6-3, 6-1 in the fourth round and will meet No. 12 seed Learner Tien who topped Thiago Tirante 6-4, 6-4 to advance.

Tuesday’s second quarter-final will see defending NBO champion Ben Shelton go up against Masters 1000 tournament winner Jakub Mensik. Shelton got the better of Joao Fonseca 6-3, 7-6(3) in the most-anticipated match of the event so far while Mensik got the better of Botic van de Zandschulp 6-4, 7-5 to conclude Sunday’s schedule.

The round of eight begins Monday with Rafael Jodar taking on Arthur Fils followed by Luciano Darderi versus Brandon Nakshima. The Canadian duo of Duncan Chan and Alexis Galarneau will also play their doubles quarter-final at 4 p.m. on Centre Court against the third-seeded team of Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic.
