The 2026 National Bank Open presented by Rogers is approaching fever pitch as some of the WTA’s best begin their Toronto campaign.

Centre Court’s four matches on Tuesday will feature a pair of Grand Slam champions, and even a former NBO finalist. Katherine Sebov will also lead off the Canadians in round-two action.

On-court Action

Tuesday’s slate kicks off with a former NBO champion.

Elina Svitolina, the 2017 titlist in Toronto, gets things started on Grandstand against Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro at 11 am. Both Svitolina and Bouzas Maneiro were quarter-finalists in Montreal last year.

Centre Court play begins shortly after, with six-time major champion Iga Swiatek meeting Sara Bejlek at 12:30 pm. That match is followed by the in-form Marta Kostyuk against Sebov, who is playing in the NBO second round for the first time. Kostyuk will look to spoil the moment, with the Ukrainian boasting the best win percentage on tour since the start of the clay season.

In the opening match of the night session, Aryna Sabalenka makes her return to Canada after a one-year hiatus. The world No. 1, who made the Toronto quarters in 2024, faces qualifier Moyuka Uchijima not before 7 pm.

Ending off the evening is two-time major finalist Amanda Anisimova against Thai qualifier Lanlana Tararudee. The American reached the title match as the world No. 132 in her last Toronto appearance, getting back into the Top 50 with the run.

The most intriguing matchup on the outside courts is No. 18 seed Maja Chwalinska against Talia Gibson. This will be the first “Big” event that the Pole will be seeded in following her remarkable trip to the 2026 Roland-Garros finals. As for Gibson, she is back on the hard courts after reaching the Indian Wells quarters and Miami fourth round.

Around the Grounds

The National Bank Open celebrates its 25-year partnership with Rogers on Tuesday. The day session is all about Rogers First Set, a program that provides a positive and safe environment to help children across Canada find early success in tennis that will promote development and lifelong participation in the sport.

The mini courts will have plenty of Rogers First Set activities starting at 10 am, then a special Guard of Honour will kick things off on Grandstand.

Rogers brings even more to Sobeys Stadium for the night session. Reigning NBO champion Victoria Mboko will be back on the grounds, signing autographs at the Rogers Fan Hub at 4 pm, then coming back onto Centre Court for the Rogers 25-Year Anniversary ceremony prior to the night’s opening match.

Live on the main stage at 12 pm, it’s Tennis Talk No. 2. This edition will feature world No. 24 Elise Mertens and her coach, as well as two-time Grand Slam champion in doubles, Vania King. Hang around or come back to the main stage later, though, because another WTA star will be doing a Q&A and signing autographs at 2 pm.
