A handful of familiar names and very accomplished players will take to the courts at IGA Stadium in Montreal on Saturday to kick off the 2026 edition of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, Kei Nishikori, and 2024 NBO Champion Alexei Popyrin highlight a star-studded qualifying field that will be vying for a place in the main draw. Tsitsipas, who won his first ATP title in 16 months at the Swiss Open earlier this month, is the top seed and awaits the identity of his opponent. Nishikori, a Japanese tennis icon who will retire at the end of the season, will take on American Michael Zheng. Meanwhile, Popyrin will face a stiff test against his fellow Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Home favourites Justin Boulais and Duncan Chan will also be in action as they look to strengthen the Canadian contingent in the main draw. Boulais will meet Adam Walton and Chan will go up against Hugo Gaston.

All of Saturday’s winners will fill out the remaining spots in the 96-player main draw.

Don’t Miss the Ball Hockey Game

Saturday is also the start of IGA Family Weekend, one of our tournament’s great traditions. Don’t miss out on fun activities for tennis fans of all ages. Face painting, yoga, bouncy castles, mascots and much more.

Plus, be sure to check out the annual ball hockey game featuring NHL and PWHL players like Hendrix Lapierre and Erin Ambrose going up against some of your favourite ATP players like Alexis Galarneau, Jakub Mensik, and Ignacio Buse beginning at 2 p.m. on Court 2.
