The Ultimate Ticket Guide to the 2026 NBO Experience at the Tennis Playground

We’re officially 100 days away from experiencing more magical summer moments at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers as we enter year two of our 12-day model. It’s all happening from August 1-13, 2026.

Last year’s edition was historic in more ways than one. A new expanded format, a new tournament brand identity, a first Masters 1000 title for Ben Shelton in Toronto, and a chapter for Canadian tennis record books written by Victoria Mboko in Montreal.

96 players, seven rounds, 21 sessions. More tennis, more activities, more music, more food, more theme days, more fun.

*Dates, schedules, sessions, and programming are subject to change.

Interested in entering our Tennis Playground to see what all the fuss is about, but aren’t sure where to start? Don’t worry, let us break it down for you. If it starts to feel like déjà vu that’s because we’re approaching the Grand Slam formula.

We Take Fun Seriously – Qualifying and First Round (August 1-2)

Both cities will once again kick off their festivities with the always-popular IGA Family Weekendin association with Énergir and LEGO Canada in Montreal, and Toronto’s 407 ETR Family Weekend in association with LEGO Canada, Montellier and Sobeys which are designed to appeal to fans of all ages. Qualifying will once again be a one-day affair on Saturday, August 1 with 32 players vying for a place in the main draw.

In Toronto, admission is free while in Montreal, free grounds passes are available for the day as well as reserved seating on the main show courts starting for as little as $15. It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce your friends and family to tennis.

In addition to plenty of kid-friendly attractions like face painting, mascots, cotton candy, and giant bubbles, both family weekends always host plenty of familiar faces, both on the court and off. They will wrap up on Sunday, August 2 with a noteworthy slate of first round matchups on tap during the day and in the evening.

*Free ground passes for Family Weekend will be released closer to the tournament.

The evening session on August 2 will be Opening Night in Toronto when fans will be invited to bring their red jerseys, rally together, and cheer on our Canadian athletes as they take to the court at home. Meanwhile, Montreal will introduce Teen Night to welcome teenagers for a night out with friends featuring music, games, and special surprises.

Opening Week – First, Second, and Third Rounds (August 3-7)

An expanded 96-player main draw means an extra round and a first-round bye for the top 32 seeds (previously, only the top 8 seeds were given byes), so more of the best players will debut on Tuesday or Wednesday. Each round up until the semi-finals will be contested over two days and players will also benefit from a day of rest between matches.

Of course, the NBO is the fuel of tennis in Canada and, without it, many of the grassroots and high-performance programming the federation runs wouldn't be possible. So, during Opening Week, we will highlight many of Tennis Canada's tennis development initiatives designed to foster the growth.

  • Rogers First Set Day will be Tuesday, August 4 and will spotlight the national mass participation program that introduces Canadian youth to tennis in a fun, welcoming, and positive environment. We’ll also celebrate Rogers’ 25th anniversary as a vital contributor to the growth of tennis in Canada during Rogers Night on Tuesday, August 4 in both cities.

  • Meanwhile, Community Day presented by Tennis Canada (Monday, August 3 in Montreal and Wednesday, August 5 in Toronto) will honour the people and organization driving the growth of tennis across the country.

  • National Bank Day on Thursday, August 6 will celebrate the Game. Set. Equity. commitment and continued investment in leveling the playing field for women and girls in tennis. The session will also include a special giveaway at the entrance, so make sure to arrive early.

  • Tropical Night presented by Barbados will bring island vibes to the tournament on Friday, August 7.

  • Wilson Night in Toronto will be the backdrop for some exciting second-round action on Wednesday, August 5.

* The full list of on-site activities will be unveiled in June.

Tickets for these sessions provide the most value for fans wanting to catch a glimpse of tennis’ biggest names and the next generation of stars.
