The penultimate day of the 2026 National Bank Open presented by Rogers is here. Who will be the two competing for the Toronto title this year at Sobeys Stadium?

Iga Swiatek looks to reach her first final in Canada, but former champion Elina Svitolina stands in her way. Then, there is guaranteed to be a first-time NBO finalist from the other side of the draw as Coco Gauff takes on Elena Rybakina.

Here’s what to look forward to on semifinal Wednesday in Toronto.

On-court Action

Leading off Centre Court at 7 pm will be Swiatek and Svitolina, meeting for the third time in 2026. The Ukrainian took both encounters this year with wins in Indian Wells and Rome.

Swiatek was the first player to book a spot in the Toronto semifinals after cruising past 15^th seed Diana Shnaider. As for Svitolina, she had to come back from a set down against Ekaterina Alexandrova but responded by winning eight straight games before eventually wrapping up the match in three, her tenth-straight victory at a WTA 1000 event.

Next, Gauff and Rybakina clash for just the second time in their careers, with the American triumphant in their only previous meeting, also in Toronto, back in 2022.

Gauff has spent the least amount of time on court out of the semifinalists, conceding an NBO-lowest 16 games through the tournament so far. The world No. 4 was granted a walkover in the quarters following Belinda Bencic’s withdrawal, sending her to a 16^th WTA 1000 semifinal.

On the other hand, Rybakina has the most time on court en route to her second straight NBO semifinal. The world No. 2 was down a set and a break against Naomi Osaka but was able to complete the comeback over last year’s runner-up.

One doubles match will take place on Grandstand to decide who will play Sara Errani and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in the final. The Italian-American pair will battle either Tereza Mihalikova and Olivia Nicholls or top seeds Katerina Siniakova and Shuai Zhang for the title. The match begins at 5 pm.

Wednesday is Mercedes-Benz Night at Sobeys Stadium. Upon entry, the German car brand has something to add to your tennis wardrobe – a complimentary wrist sweatband. However, only 500 are available so be sure to arrive early and grab something to eat prior to the start of play.
